Fifteen years ago today, we threw a party of a lifetime to celebrate our love. It was a love seasoned with loads of life experiences that led us to this moment of sealing the deal forever. It is still a flavorful love as we have added to it shared experience. What a gift it is to love one for a lifetime! It is messy and miraculous at the same time.
I thank God for answering my prayers for a man who was saved, steady, strong, sexy, and solid. I believe with all of my heart he is the one created just for me. He is the honey in my tea, the peanut butter to my jelly, and one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Second only Jesus, my husband is the greatest blessing of my life. He was the missing puzzle piece to our family.
Yes, I had been blessed beyond imagination several years earlier in becoming a mom to an amazing son, but he will be the first one to tell you that our family solidified in a way we could only imagine. Then we were blessed again a few years after being married with an awesome son. Our family was complete. For a girl who never thought she could trust or love, and be loved, by one man, God outdid Himself in giving me three men who love me like crazy. Friends, this is truly miraculous.
As I reflect back on the past decade and a half, I thank God for the many happy and heartfelt memories we have created as a couple and as a family. God knew just what I needed. While it hasn't always been easy, it is always worth it. Marriage is a gift from God, and it takes Jesus being at the heart of it to make it work. If we're honest, we will admit that it is only because of Him we are here today to tell this story. A story we hope will bring glory to Him.
Today, we both thank God for His great love for us and for the immeasurable riches of His kindness in giving us one another. We are forever grateful for the privilege to do life with sons. We look forward to creating more memories together as we traverse the seasons of life. May our journeys through the mountains, wilderness, valleys, and heaven-on-earth bring glory and honor to God forever and always. It will be by His grace, mercy, love, and kindness. Here's to many more years of telling His stories for His glory. Can I get an Amen?
