Happy Monday! I am in a rare position this week. I am by myself...well, my dog is here, but all my people are off on adventures. The hubs and youngest son are away scouting, and the eldest son is half way around the world living his dreams.
I can count on one hand how many times I've been by myself since becoming a mom well over 20 years ago. What I know for sure is this girl loves some solitude. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE my guys! And in the same I will tell you that since becoming a mother, I have longed for the day when I could just get up and do whatever I wanted.
So this is my rare opportunity...to wake up every morning for the rest of this week and do whatever I want. There will be minimal dishes and cooking. I will most likely not turn on the television. I will reflect, recharge, and renew my commitment to my goals and dreams. I know this may sound selfish, but I will embrace every moment God gives me of solitude and silence.
I grew up in the mountains of Montana, and it sits well with my soul to have times to get out in God's creation and soak in the silence of nature. So yes, there will be lots of sunrises and time in the great outdoors. I will be a better wife and mom at the end of this week.
Do you enjoy silence and solitude? I'd love to hear why or why not. Let's start a conversation below. If you'd rather, feel free to directly share your thoughts with me. Now I am off to do whatever I feel lead to do. Life really is all about what we 'get to' do. Whenever we feel burdened by 'have to' in life. Let's take some time to embrace the silence and solitude and see if it helps us shift our perspective.
